A Few Funny Moments

The past couple weeks have been terribly busy, not to mention stressful. It has been difficult for me to not only sit down, but to unscramble the moments in my head and them write about them in a manner that wouldn't be completely depressing!
However, sometimes I loves God's sense of humor. The only things I can remember are the floor slapping, belly laughing moments that my children bring to me.
This week Nick went to the school skating party with a friend. I have never let him do this. He is my sneaky child, the one that will need a child proof house and a safty helmet far into adulthood. I was very distraught when his friend showed up to get him by foot. His mother was going to pick Nick up, but instead the boy and Nick were to walk back to their house and leave from there. Too much can happen with my Nicholas in a 6 house radius, and it did. When I kissed him goodbye he grabbed what I thought was his sweatshirt and left. Being the mother that I am sat for a minute and then spied out the window to see if he had made it. Then I ran full steam a head out the front door and down the side walk screaming "Nicholas! That's not a sweatshirt! Nick?!" My son had left the house, was walking down the sidewalk and heading to a school function wearing a Star Wars Yoda costume. I sometimes wonder what is going through his head other than, "but I like it!"
Luci has been my other source of amusement this week. She starts off everyday with her interesting choice of clothing, such as a Cleveland Browns cheerleading dress with Tinkerbell winter boots and a big red bow in her hair. I am never surprised by this though, her sisters dressed the same way, and at this point I may prefer the unmatched colors over the black shoes, black pants, black shirt, black eye liner, black cloud of death look. Luci had insisted on eating a peice of her sister's birthday cake for snack last week. She also insisted we put candles in it and sing to her baby doll. Naturally we did, and then she wanted me to sing happy birthday to her. But she doesn't like her last name, she wants to change it to Samantha. I tried to explain to her Samantha was a first name, but there was no reasoning. She wants her name to be Luci Samantha. I wonder if we would be defying a law to have a first name as a last!
Last night Luci heard my cell phone ring. Now I have my Facebook hooked up to my cell phone so everytime someone calls it will show their Facebook profile picture. My mom's is a hawk. (she loves birds) Well Luci can usually tell who is calling my the photo, but this time she just kept yelling up the stairs, "mom, there's a birdy calling you!" "Mom! there's a bird on the phone!" I laughed so hard. Not only did I have to blog about this moment, I had to write it in her baby book. It was just too cute. Thats if for today, I have to get back to cake baking, house cleaning and well, just being mom!
